This projects brief was to extend the property to the side and rear of the dwelling to improve the usability of the kitchen as well as adding a utility space. The connection to the well established garden to the rear was key in the design of the extension and allows the new open plan space to be better connected with the external space and ensures the space is bright by using large amount of glazing within the rear walls and rooflights within the new roof space.
