Usability of the space

This client asked for a simple extension to be built to provide them with a semi-open plan layout of a kitchen, living and dining space. This allows the family to have a private lounge to the front of the house and a secondary living space connected to both the dining and kitchen space. The existing dwelling was a recent new-build and therefore the kitchen and utility spaces where new and designing to allow these to be retained was key but ensuring the usability of the space was not disturbed by this. The large amounts of glazing bring large amounts of light into the space and allows greater access into the garden areas.
